Evolution of HubrisA Poem by EricA commentary on man's view of his place in the world.
The man, the highest organism
nested atop the six foot tower Overlooks his planet - one imprisoned by a not so finite will of his power. That man was descended - from a fish - he marvels the mind apprehended by infatuation at the product. That nature's final sum through selection could be so perfect in its own recollection. And when who follows discovers mankind in mortality Will they surrender the same awe? Like the man and the fish, they may wonder that they ever descended from one so flawed.
