Based on real events.

You said you loved me,
But now you don't.
Who'll fix my heart?
I know you won't.

Our days together were great,
But something got in the way called fate.
Even though it was all a lie,
I felt so loved with you by my side.

No other love for you will be stronger than mine,
I did so much for you in such little time.
When you told me you loved someone else,
My hand was on my heart, searching for a pulse...

You were all I had,
And as I look back on our days,
I feel lonely and sad.
But I also feel lucky to have moments with you,
That's something no one else had.

I still love you til this day.
People say I've gone insane,
For loving a girl who played with my heart,
Then threw it away.

I agree with them and I must say,
I definitely lost my ways.
But what am I to do?
My heart still tells me one thing:
I love you.

Thank you for sharing-you can always tell when a poem is written out of personal experience because if not it will lack conviction and this is packed full of it, I can identify with you as I read and can feel what you are feelings.
