An Ode to Words UnspokenA Poem by Charles Chukwuani
What becomes of words unspoken?
Could they possibly find any joy, like a once happily chirping bird, that accepts his song is better left unheard? Or would they they rage angrily in jailed cells, breaking down into morphemic beasts, and jeering at the words that get released? Do they become filled with regret, upon seeing the consequences of being unsaid, they think they should have been uttered instead! And therefore engaging in crow like behavior, feasting upon the Prometheus' of mankind, that dared swallow them down and into the mind? Perhaps then, they go blind? Blind to their own meaning, and enveloped in fear? And then they just disappear. © 2014 Charles Chukwuani |
