How She Became The UniverseA Poem by Charles ChukwuaniI guess the theme is self love... realizing that everything you seek from the outside is already supplied in ample amounts from within.
Some words about her past,
She could be described as... A blade of grass in a vast plain. Or just another droplet of water, Amidst a sea, So perfectly and completely average, Was she. Her mind plagued by her own awareness of it, She cursed her mediocrity, Her pathetic banality, Decrying her lack of any particular specialty, Pondering why she was unable to be something, Someone, That is wanted, That is needed, That is aspired by others to be, A young damsel in distress over her quest, To seek validation outside her self. Yet as fate would have it, A transformation of such aesthetic grandeur would occur, One that puts the ugly duckling's to shame, And looks that could never be pulled by her entire body, Were now drawn in with her eyes alone, There it was, That want, That need, That aspiration by others to be, And with it came the realization of greatness, Greatness that had been there all along. Imagine living your whole life in utter darkness, Never knowing of the light confined within, For how could she have ever envied others that shined, Such pettiness, When her love for herself could shine just as bright? What need is there, For want, For need, For aspiration by others to be, When she could love herself far stronger, Than all the might in the universe could muster? Upon conquering her universe she claimed it, As herself, In her own magnificent right, How could a single soul dare to challenge, What she asserted to be? Since they could never think to compare, To her fully transformed state of galactic beauty! The accumulation of these thoughts, Sums up her awe inspiring epiphany, Of how she became, The universe.
