It's a strange thing really
Loneliness

It creeps up on you and catches you unawares
A sudden blackout
As if all the stars in the sky were to suddenly

Disappear

Then there is that despair

In knowing that no matter how loudly your heart screams

There is nobody there

To hear

To share

Or even pretend to care

I'm the only knife in the drawer

The only fish in the sea

The last star in the sky

The only bird that can't fly

I love how you captured how suddenly and seemingly illogically loneliness can creep up on you. Loneliness can make you feel like you are the "only knife in the drawer" or the "only fish in the sea" even if you know there are people out there. It really speaks to the fact that we are loneliest when we are around other people. Only criticism I can think of and this is more of a question about punctuation. Was the lack of punctuation to emphasize the loneliness feeling where the sentences can't feel complete like when you're lonely? Maybe I'm reading too much into this. Anyway can't wait to read more of your stuff!
