Chapter Twenty-OneA Chapter by Chris
Greg and Zach walked down the hall side by side, weaving their way through the students as they slowly headed towards the exit of the school so that they could start their weekend. Both of them had small, content smiles on their faces as they talked to one another, occasionally throwing in a joke here and there which caused both of them to laugh. About a week had passed since Kyle had tried to attack Greg. The Junior had been dealt with accordingly for what he had tried to do and Greg was certain that it would be quite a long while before he would ever have to worry about seeing him again. And because of this, he felt like a huge boulder had been lifted off of his shoulders, allowing him to breathe normally again without a single fear of it crushing his bones into dust. For the first time in a long while, he truly felt happy. “Hey, why don't we go grab a milkshake or something and then head to the movies later?” suggested Zach. “Alright,” replied Greg. “Hey Greg, hey Zach.” The two looked over to see Sarah walking over to them. “Hey, what's up Sarah?” said Greg. “Nothing. Can I talk with you for a moment?” Greg looked up at Zach questioningly. “Go ahead,” said Zach. “I'll meet you at the car.” Greg nodded as Zach clapped him on the shoulder before walking off. The brown-haired male then turned to Sarah. “So what did you want to talk about?” Greg asked a bit curiously. “Just wanted to see how everything was going I guess,” she replied. Greg smiled. “Everything couldn't possibly be better,” he told her. “Really?” she asked, smiling a small bit herself. “So Zach hasn't tried to hurt you or anything, has he?” “Nope, not once,” he replied. “He's nowhere near like Kyle was.” “Good,” Sarah said, smiling more now. “Hey guys, guess what!” Heather said a bit dramatically as she walked over to them. “You would not believe what just happened!” “What happened?” Sarah asked, a small bit of humor showing in her eyes as Greg chuckled a little. “Sorry, I would love to listen to your story, Heather, but I gotta go meet up with Zach,” Greg cut in before Heather could begin her story. “I'll hear it another time though.” “Fine,” Heather said with a dramatic, upset sigh as she rolled her eyes a a little before giggling some. Greg chuckled a bit before saying, “See ya.” “Bye Greg,” the two girls said almost simultaneously. And with that, Greg turned around and walked off to go meet with Zach without a single worry in the world. © 2009 ChrisAuthor's Note
