A Chapter by Chris

The sun sat at its peak in the clear blue sky, shining brightly on the earth below. Calm winds swept through Wildtree, keeping the place at a cool yet pleasant temperature. The villagers moved about the village peacefully. There didn't seem to be a single soul there that wasn't wearing a smile on their face.

Blaxton strolled through the somewhat small graveyard of the village with a couple of the village's warriors trailing closely behind him. He looked from the heading of one gravestone to another until they came to rest on the two that had just recently been added. The leader came to a stop in front of them and turned towards them with the warriors standing behind him. The gravestones read the two names of Spike and Skylar.

“So was it Skylar that defeated Blade?,” asked Blaxton.

“Actually sir, we have reason to believe that it was Spike who defeated him,” said one of the warriors. “He was the one that was wielding the Twin Blades when we discovered the bodies, and him and Blade were the only ones that had battle wounds.”

“Oh? Then how did Skylar die?” asked Blaxton as he continued to stare at the gravestones.

“Remember when one of our healers told us about a curse he had, but said he was unable to fix it?” asked the second warrior. “Well, that was the cause of death. It was a killing curse that gives the victim a heart attack.”

“I see . . . and what about the Twin Blades?” Blaxton questioned. “What has happened to them?”

“Some crazy old lady came and started yelling at us to give them back,” said the first warrior. “She wouldn't leave us alone, so we really didn't have any choice but to comply.”

Blaxton laughed a little. “I see,” he said before turning away from the gravestones. “Come, let us enjoy this new peace.”

Blaxton and the warriors left the graveyard, going to continue their lives in the now peaceful world. Spike and Skylar were dead, but they would never be forgotten for restoring the peace to the once darkened lands, and they would be able to continue to be with one another in the afterlife.

Author's Note

Chris
Is this good enough for an ending? If no, then should I have made it a bit different, or should I just end it with the last chapter? Or is there something that I left out that could have made the ending a bit better? Also, how was the book overall?

I think I like the finality of the the last chapter being the end...but I can also see the point of wanting more closure. However, I don't think this one does the lads justice, especially because, as a reader, I never liked Blaxton. It bugs me a little to see him being so buddy buddy to the boys now that they're dead.

Not sure if i wanted them to die...Sure you're the author and all, but after all the trouble they went through just to die...its a bit stereotypical of most gay books. the gay guys die. no matter what happens, the gay guys die. The book itself was good, although I feel it was fast paced, more of a short book. I feel that if you actually took it and filled it with more quests, more characters, and actually created more obstacles, more situations, you could actually have this published as a novel. Although I suggest these things I do love the book itself, it was great. Keep writing!

Good ending, however the last two chapters were rather boring.
