Chapter 34

Chapter 34

A Chapter by Chris

A couple weeks passed since the funeral was held and Sean was now over his father's death. As winter came, it started to get colder out. People had put Christmas decorations up all over the neighborhood in order to get ready for the upcoming holidays.

It was now a Friday. However, they didn't have school; it was a snow day. Sean was sitting on the couch watching television. After a little while, the doorbell rang and Sean went to go answer it. He opened the door to see Alex standing there holding a large black sled that was big enough to fit two people.

        “Hey,” Sean greeted.

“What are you inside for?” Alex asked, skipping the formalities. “Come on, let's go sledding.”

        Sean chuckled before saying, “Alright.”

After putting on a winter coat, gloves, a hat, and an extra pair of pants to keep the ones he was wearing from getting soaking wet, he headed outside. He watched some snowflakes fall delicately towards the ground, which was covered in a thick blanket of snow.

        “Let's go,” Alex said.

Sean followed Alex to a large, unoccupied hill that was just nearby. They treaded up the steep slope and they reached the top about a minute later.

“This is going to be fun,” Alex said as he stood there and looked down the hill.

        “Yeah,” agreed Sean.

Alex set the sled on the ground before the two got on it, Sean sitting in the front and Alex in the back. After Alex pushed off the ground, the sled started to go down the hill. Their laughter filled the air as the sled picked up speed. It reached the bottom seconds later and it slowed down to a stop shortly afterwards.

The two went up and down the hill several more times. When it started to become crowded with the kids from around the neighborhood, they decided to head back to Sean's house. Once they reached it, they started to cross the yard. It was then when Alex got an idea. He smirked some as he dropped the sled and reached down to get a clump of snow. After curving it into a ball, he threw it at Sean's back. Sean turned around before another snowball pelted him. Alex laughed as he started to run towards the back of the house to try to get away from Sean.

Sean, who had lagged behind a little from trying to make a snowball, came to the backyard. He looked around as he readied the white projectile. However, Alex wasn't in sight. Sean's brown eyes then looked towards the woods that was just nearby. A smirk came on his face as he started to figure that Alex was probably hiding somewhere in there. He moved forth towards the woods and when he reached the edge of it, he advanced with caution.

Suddenly, a snowball flew out of nowhere and hit Sean right in the face. The boy yelped a little from the coldness of the snow as he used a gloved hand to wipe the snow off.

“Bulls-eye!” Alex cried before running away laughing.

“Come back here!” Sean laughed as he tried to chase after the older male.

They weaved through the bare trees, their laughter filling the cold, quiet air around them. After running for a little bit, the snowball fight resumed. They took cover behind trees while trying to throw snowballs at each other. None of the projectiles were successful in hitting their target though.

After about five minutes of missing with the snowballs, Sean decided to advance towards the opposition. He gathered a bit more snow in his hand and made a snowball out of it. The dark-haired boy then broke into a sprint towards Alex, laughing some as he did so. Snowballs were launched towards the younger male, who moved to the side to avoid them as he grew nearer to Alex.

The snowball Sean made was then sent forward, but it missed its target by a few inches. After dodging one more snowball, Sean was now just a few feet away from Alex. He quickly closed the gap by diving forward, tackling the laughing Alex to the snow-covered ground beneath them.

They looked at each other for a little bit as Sean remained on top of Alex, smiling at one another. Sean then reached down and kissed Alex on the lips. The brown-haired boy wrapped his arms around Sean before their eyes closed. Sean slid his tongue against Alex's lips, asking for entrance. When the lips parted, Sean's tongue slipped into the other male's mouth to explore every inch of it. They continued for several seconds before Sean slowly pulled away. They smiled at each other for a moment or two before Sean stood up. He held a hand out, which Alex took before being helped up onto his feet.

The two boys headed back to Sean's house. When they got there, they tore off their wet coats, hats, gloves, and extra pair of pants. Sean filled up a tea kettle full of water and placed it on the stove. While waiting for the water to boil, he got down two coffee cups, marshmallows, and hot chocolate mix from the cupboards. When the tea kettle started to whistle, Sean turned the stove off and poured the water into the two cups. After stirring the mixture of water and hot cocoa mix with a spoon, he took the two cups out into the living room where Alex was sitting on the couch.

“Here,” he said as he held out one of the cups.

“Thanks,” Alex said as he carefully took it so that he wouldn't burn himself.

“Mhm,” Sean hummed as he sat down next to the boy.

As they sat there, they talked and watched television while drinking their hot chocolate. When they finished it, Sean took both of the mugs before heading into the kitchen to wash them. Alex walked in right after Sean finished and wrapped his arms around the dark-haired boy from behind.

“You should stay the night tonight,” suggested Alex before kissing Sean on the side of the neck. “I have some Christmas movies that we can watch down in the basement.”

        “Sure,” said Sean.

Sean went upstairs to get some of the stuff he would need before writing a note for Aunt Kathy to tell her that he would be sleeping over at Alex's. After placing it on the kitchen counter, he and Alex got on their winter coats before leaving the house.

When they got to Alex's house, they started to do a few things together. Once it started to get late, they went down into the basement. As they watched the Christmas movies, they cuddled some on the couch. Some of the time they ended up kissing too. After watching about three movies, the two boys headed up to Alex's room to get ready for bed.

Do something interesting with the coco making, put some dialouge in it. As it is right now, it's boring.

Also, put some actions while they watch the movie. Do they talk about the movie? Do they talk over the movie whith their own dialouge? Do they just make out instead?
