Chapter 31A Chapter by Chris
A couple weeks had passed since the incident on Halloween night. The knife wounds that had practically littered Sean's torso were healed for the most part and he wasn't wearing anymore stitches. The culprit was never caught though, but it didn't bother Sean too much because he hadn't been attacked since that night. It didn't really seem likely to him that anyone would be attacking him again anytime soon. It was now a Saturday and Sean was laying in the grass somewhere near the lake. His hands were interlaced behind his head as his brown eyes watched the clouds slowly float overhead. To keep himself warm from the autumn air, he wore a solid black sweatshirt and a pair jeans. A small smile was plastered on Sean's face as he laid there. Things seemed to be going pretty well now. Everyone at school had started to leave him and Alex alone. There were still a few people that picked on them, but it didn't really bother either of them much anymore, partly because they were so used to it now. Sean's ears soon caught sounds of leaves being crushed under feet. It wasn't long until a shadow was cast over him by Alex, who was standing there looking down at him with a smile on his face. The smile on Sean's face grew wider. “Hey,” the dark-haired boy greeted. “Hey,” Alex said back before moving next to Sean and sitting down so that his hands propped him up. “How's it going?” Sean asked. “Good,” Alex replied. “Certain reason you're here by the lake?” “Not really. Just wanted to come here and relax for a little bit. Better than staying cooped up inside all day.” Alex gave a small nod of his head. Sean sat up now and Alex wrapped an arm around his shoulders. The dark-haired boy smiled a little more as he scooted closer to the older male before wrapping an arm around his lower back. They smiled at each other for a second or two before kissing each other on the lips. Both of them then turned their heads towards the lake. “There's going to be a fair next week,” Alex said after a few seconds of silence. “Sounds like fun,” stated Sean. “I was thinking we could maybe go. Do you want to?” “Sure.” The thought of going excited Sean some. He had never went to anything of that sort before. Half of the time Sean was just lucky to go outside when he was a kid without his father yelling at him. This was definitely going to be something he was going to look forward to. After sitting there and talking for a little bit longer, Sean and Alex left the lake and walked to a fast food restaurant. Once they ate, they resumed their walk around the neighborhood. It was rather peaceful around town that day. Leaves danced around on the quiet streets as the calm wind swept through the town. Every so often they would pass kids riding around on their bicycles while they filled the air with their laughter It wasn't much longer until the two boys came across an old playground, which was completely empty. There was a newer one not too much farther from here, which was where the majority of the kids went. A small chuckle escaped Alex's mouth as he stared at the park. “What's so funny?” Sean asked as he looked up at the other male, a questioning look on his face. “Nothing,” Alex replied. Alex walked forth, heading over to the swing set. He grabbed onto the swing and tossed it up over the top bar. With a series of clanging sounds caused by the rusty chains rubbing against the bar, the swing fell so that it was now suspended higher in the air. Sean did the same thing and the two sat down on the rock-hard swings. Alex's feet, which could just touch the ground, idly pushed him back and forth as he looked around the old playground. “I used to come to this place to play all the time when I was a kid,” Alex said in an almost nostalgic manner. “Half the time I always bugged my mom about taking me here on the weekends or after school. She always got so annoyed with me for it.” A small laugh left his mouth before he looked towards Sean. “What about you? Did you ever come here when you were little?” Sean shook his head before saying, “No.” A nearly inaudible sigh escaped his mouth as he looked around the park a little. His father or mother never really took him or Jim anywhere when they were young, especially after their father lost his job. It almost saddened Sean a little. The thought of being able to come here as a kid made him feel as though he was left out on a great deal of things when he was younger. Alex noticed the disappointment Sean was feeling. He sighed a little before smiling shortly after, getting an idea. After rising from the swing, he walked over behind Sean and gave him a push. Sean snapped out of his thoughts as he rose up in the air in the swing a little before falling back down. Alex pushed him again and a smile curved onto Sean's mouth now. After a little bit, Alex grabbed onto the chains to stop the swing. He wrapped his arms around Sean from behind and gently rested his chin on one of Sean's shoulders. Sean chuckled some as a hand went to rest lightly on one of Alex's. “I love you,” Alex said in the dark-haired boy's ear. “I love you too,” Sean said back, smiling some. Alex pecked Sean on the side of the neck before relinquishing him, who now slowly rose from the swing. He stepped towards Alex before wrapping his arms around him and burying his face into his shoulder a little. A warm smile swept onto Alex's face as he hugged the boy back. Sean looked up now before the other male kissed him on the lips. Sean kissed back before feeling Alex's tongue sliding into his mouth to explore every inch of it. They continued for several seconds before ending the kiss. “Come on, let's go do something at my house,” Alex said. “Alright,” Sean replied. Their arms fell to their sides and they both made their way to Alex's house to spend the rest of the day together. © 2008 ChrisReviews
