![]() Chapter 11A Chapter by Chris![]() Alex decides to pay Sean a visit after school, which only gets Sean into a load of trouble with his dad.![]()
Four days have past since that Monday. It was now the end of the school day and Alex was driving towards Sean's house, which he got the directions to from the phone directory. There hasn't been any sign of Sean since Monday and Alex wanted to stop by his house to see if the boy was all right. A short while later, the car coasted to a stop in front of the small house. Alex got out of the car and walked across the yard to the door. A hand reached out and knocked on it a few times and the door opened up shortly afterwards to show Sean's father on the other side. “Hi, is Sean home?” Alex asked politely. “Who the hell are you?” questioned Sean's father. “I'm Alex, a friend of Sean. He hasn't been at school so I thought I'd come and see him to see if everything was okay.” Sean's dad stood there for a moment and just looked at Alex in a cold manner. “F**k off,” he finally said before slamming the door in Alex's face. The brown-haired boy stood there for a moment and stared at the door as if trying to register what just happened. A light sigh exited his mouth before he turned around and headed back to his car, figuring he would just head home now. During that time, Sean was in his room. Sadness and depression practically radiated off of the teen as he laid there on his bed. A heavy sigh escaped his mouth as he stared into nothingness and thought about nothing. He wasn't aware of the fact that Alex had just stopped by. His mind was completely elsewhere at the moment. His bedroom door slammed open seconds later and Sean snapped back into reality. He looked towards his door to see his father walking in with an angered look on his face. “What the hell do you think you're doing!” he yelled. “Didn't I tell you not to have any of your goddamn friends come around here?” “What do you mean?” Sean asked as he sat up now. “One of your friends came by! I thought I told you not to let them come around here? And where the hell have you gone the past three damn days?” “At school.” “The hell you were! Your friend said something about you not being there since Monday! Didn't I tell you to go to school Wednesday?” Sean didn't answer, but only looked at his father. It was true; he hadn't been at school since Monday. He caught a terrible cold from walking in the rain that afternoon and he really didn't feel in the mood to go to school. His father ended up beating him for not going to school that day and so he had to promise he would go to school. However, Sean had really been going somewhere else during the past three days. It wasn't really any specific place, but just one where he could hide until school was over so he could go home. He just hasn't been feeling up to power lately, especially since his dad has been beating him left and right the past few days. “You stupid piece of s**t, answer me damn it!” his father yelled. Sean just looked away and down towards the floor. He didn't bother answering because to him it didn't matter anymore. He knew his father would just end up yelling at him and probably beating him regardless. His father stepped closer and yelled, “Answer me!” Sean still didn't respond and it only ended up infuriating his dad even more. A large hand smacked the teen across the head, which caused him to bring his head to his knees and cover the back of it with his hands in a way to protect himself from the hits that were sure to come. “Answer me!” his father demanded as he punched Sean in the upper back. “Okay, you did,” Sean said, still shielding his head with his arms. “Did what?” Another blow to the back came. “You told me to go back to school Wednesday!” “And where the hell did you go?” Once again a punch was delivered, this time a lot harder. Sean let out a small grunt of pain as he remained in the same position. “Answer me you piece of s**t!” his father yelled. “I went to the woods just a ways from school,” Sean answered, his voice a bit shaky. “And why the hell did you go there?” Another harsh strike came, this time near the shoulder. “So I didn't have to go to school.” “And why didn't you go like I asked you to?” Sean didn't answer. He was too afraid to tell the reason because he knew it would only make his dad a lot more furious than what he all ready was. “Answer the question d****t!” demanded his dad as he threw another punch just below Sean's neck. The boy still didn't answer. His father said the same thing once more and hit Sean a couple more times with his large fist. This ended up making Sean lose control of himself. He shot up into a stand and looked at his dad furiously as tears streamed down his face. “Because of you!” he shouted. “Because of you d****t!” Realizing what he just said, Sean clammed up and looked at his father. The anger that had built up in him was completely replaced by fear as he stared at the face of his dad, which was as red as a tomato. Veins popped out of the old man's neck and his clenched teeth were bared. A left hook smashed against Sean's face and he fell right onto the bed. A barrage of fists quickly followed and the only thing Sean could get himself to do was curl up into a ball in a defensive manner. “Shut the hell up you b*****d!” his father shouted as the fists continued to pound on the upper half of Sean's body. “It's not my goddamn fault you didn't go to school! Don't place the f*****g blame on someone else when it isn't their damn fault! You stupid piece of s**t! You lousy-a*s son! You're worthless to this f****n' world!” The series of fists and insults finally ended. His father stood over the crying boy and stared at him furiously for a moment. He then turned and walked away, but stopped just at the doorway to look back at Sean. “Just go burn in hell!” his father yelled before slamming the door behind him. Sean didn't say anything. All he could do was lay there in fetal position and cry. © 2008 ChrisReviews
