Sean's family life is shown here.

The rest of the day went by a little slowly for Sean. When it was finally time to go home, Sean made his way towards his bus. He didn't have his driver's license or even his temps yet for that matter. There wasn't any way he could learn how to drive with the way his family was.

Once Sean reached his bus, he walked down the aisle and sat down in one of the seats in the middle. He propped his knees up on the back of the seat in front of him and stared out the window. The black-haired boy didn't bother paying any attention to the people that came on the bus, mainly because he didn't want to somehow start any trouble with them.

The bus ride home wasn't that long for Sean. When it finally came to his stop, him and his brother, Jim, got off. Jim is only two years older than Sean and stands to be about three inches taller than him. He has medium-length black hair and green eyes. His attire consists of black pants and a black tee-shirt with a guitar on the front of it.

Both of the boys walked into their small home. Their mother was sitting on the worn out couch, watching television with a cigarette in between her long, bony fingers. She blew a puff of smoke before turning her head to look at the boys with her seemingly lifeless green eyes.

“Jim, you need to go cook dinner before your dad gets home,” she said.

“Why do I have to do it?” Jim asked angrily as he looked at her.

She took another puff of her cancer stick before saying, “I don't care who does it. Someone needs to do it before your father gets home. You know how he gets when he comes home and dinner isn't ready.”

“I'm not doing it,” Jim said before walking away.

Sean sighed as he stood there and watched his brother slam the door to his room. Not wanting to see his dad get angry, he figured he would do it. After putting his backpack in his room, Sean goes into the kitchen and starts to cook dinner, which is spaghetti.

By the time his father got home, the spaghetti was done and the table was set. Dinner started shortly afterwards. The four sat down at the small kitchen table and everyone but Sean's father started eating.

“Why did you have to cook this?” his father asked.

Sean looked up from his plate. He gave a shrug before saying, “Sorry, I didn't know what else to cook.”

        “I'm not eating this s**t.”

His father picked up the plate and threw it against the wall. The plate shattered and the pasta fell to the tiled floor while some of the sauce rolled down the wall. Sean's dad stood up from the table.

“Goddamn, I work my a*s off everyday and can't even come home to a decent meal anymore,” he said as he walked over to the refrigerator. “Might as well just starve to death since I'm apparently not important to this damn family.”

After getting out a can of beer, Sean's father shuts the refrigerator door and starts to walk out of the small kitchen.

“Clean that mess up Jim,” he said.

“Why do I have to clean it up?” Jim said angrily.

“Just clean it up!” their father yelled.

Jim slammed his fork down onto the table and stood up.

“This is all your fault,” Jim said as he smacked Sean in the back of the head while walking behind him.

Sean looked towards his brother who went to go clean up the mess. His attention then briefly went towards his mother, who continued to eat as if nothing happened. An almost inaudible sigh leaves Sean's mouth before he just resumes eating.

After he was done eating, Sean had to go to work. Once he got his work uniform on, he left the house and made his way to the family restaurant he worked at, which wasn't too far away. He washed the dishes there because it was really the only thing he could do. The manager didn't really trust him with preparing the food for some strange reason and he didn't think Sean would be any good at waiting on people or being a cashier.

Sean's shift went by a little slowly. It didn't bother him a single bit though. He always figured this was better than staying at home with his family. This and school was really the only way he could get away from them. When it was finally over though, Sean made his way back home. He took his time though so he wouldn't have to return to them so soon.

When Sean finally got into the house, he only got about five seconds of peace before his brother decided to blast his stereo. Their father, who was sleeping on the couch, shot up in a sitting position from the loud music.

“Goddamn, what the hell is that boy doing,” their dad said before he looked over at Sean. “Go tell him to turn it down.”

Sean stood there for a second or two. He didn't want to do it because he hated confronting his brother. It never usually turned out good. However, his father was usually a lot worse when he got mad, so he figured he would do what he was told. A single nod of his head was given in response to what his father said before walking down the hall to his brother's bedroom. He opened the door a little and his brother looked over at him from his bed.

“Get out!” he yelled at him.

“Dad says to turn your music down,” Sean said loudly so his brother could hear him.

“I said get out!” Jim said before chucking a shoe at him.

Sean quickly closed the door and a thud came shortly after from the shoe hitting it. The dark-haired boy just let out a sigh before walking into his room, not even going to bother anymore. Instead he laid down on his bed and stared up at the blank ceiling with not much else to do.

About a minute later though, Sean's father pushed the door open, which slammed against the wall. Sean looked over towards him to see the angered look on his red face.

“What the hell are you doing?” his father yelled. “Didn't I tell you to tell your brother to turn that damn racket down?”

“I tried but he wouldn't listen,” Sean shouted so his father could hear him over the loud rock music that was being played.

“You can't do a damn thing right can you? Screw it, I'll just tell him myself since you're too damn stupid to!”

His father slammed the door behind him and a few seconds later the music was turned down some. Sean sighed a little heavily as he remained laying there. After a while, he ended up dozing off.
