Chapter 10A Chapter by Chris
The following week went by slowly for Adam. Jake was still upset with him for what he did on Sunday, though he wasn't as mad with him like he was when it did happen. It did make Adam feel a little worse for kicking Jake like that, and he really wanted the boy's forgiveness, but at the rate things were going now, he wasn't really too sure about that happening. At the same time though, aside from feeling guilty for doing what he did to Jake, he did feel a little happy. He felt as though he was a little free now after he finally came to terms with his sexuality and admitted it to Jake. However, there was something more that Adam wanted to tell the blond-haired boy, but since he is upset with him, he hasn't been able to get himself to say it. Adam woke up a little late on Saturday. When he was up, he noticed that Jake wasn't in the room. He didn't stay there long himself and headed to the cafeteria to get something to eat after taking a quick shower. None of his friends were in the cafeteria, which meant that Adam was left to eat breakfast by himself. After he finished eating, Adam walked around campus. He wasn't really in the mood to go play basketball with Brad and the others, mainly because he was still feeling a little bad about last week. The more his mind dwelled on it, the worse he felt about it too. Adam just wished that Jake would forgive him just one more time. He realized that he hadn't been very nice to Adam ever since the school year started, and he now knew that he really had no excuse for it like he used to think he did. However, even if he admitted that to himself, it wasn't going to get Jake to forgive him. A few minutes later, Adam found himself sitting underneath the same tree he sat under before when he was regretting the whole date with Katie. Thoughts filled his mind as he sat there, most of them being about Jake. As he continued to think, his eyes wandered over to the mums that had been planted along the side of the building. The mums weren't buds this time though, but instead beautiful flowers of orange and yellow. What used to look so dull and miserable now looked beautiful and as though it was full of life now. Just looking at the mums made Adam feel a little calmer. The boy sat there for a little longer before deciding that he would go and try to get Jake to forgive him again. The least he could do was try after all. If it didn't work this time, he would just give up and never bother Jake again. Adam stood up and made his way to the boys' dormitories, figuring that he would check their room first. When he got there, he was happy to find Jake sitting their on his bed. The other male looked up at Adam before just looking away. Adam wasn't really too surprised by it though, since Jake was still mad at him. However, he walked over towards the blond-haired boy, standing just a couple feet away from the bed. Jake looked at him again and Adam gave a small smile. “Hey,” Adam said quietly. “What do you want?” Jake asked. “I was wondering if you would maybe want to go to the movies with me tonight as friends?” “Oh, I will be more than happy to,” Jake said sarcastically. “Because I just enjoy getting ditched two hours before the movie begins and then never going to the movie at all.” “I know I didn't stick with my plans last week, but I promise I won't run off at the last minute.” Jake didn't say anything. “Come on, just give me another chance. If I mess up, I swear I'll never bother you again and leave you alone for the rest of the year.” The other male still didn't answer right away. After a few seconds though, he quietly sighed before saying, “Alright, I'll give you another chance.” Adam smiled. “Thanks. I promise you won't regret it.” “Yeah, we'll see,” Jake said. The two started to talk a little. Jake wasn't acting completely friendly towards Adam yet, but it didn't really bother Adam that much. In all honesty, he didn't really expect Jake to completely forgive him right away anyway. He was just glad that Jake was finally giving him another chance. However, like last time, about two hours before the movie Adam and Jake were planning to go see would begin, someone was knocking at their door. Adam got up from his bed and went over to the door to see who it was. It was Brad, and as soon as he saw this, Adam mentally cursed. He didn't really expect Brad to show up like last time, and so he didn't try figuring out what he was going to say to Brad. “Hey dude, let's go play basketball with the guys,” Brad said. “Sorry, but I can't,” Adam said. “I'm going on a date.” It actually almost surprised Adam when that last sentence slipped out of his mouth. He didn't even think about saying something like that. However, it was kind of true, or at least Adam kind of liked to think it was anyway. A smile came onto Brad's face when he heard this though. “Okay, I understand. I'll just tell the others that you couldn't make it.” “Thanks,” Adam said. Brad left and Adam closed the door. He turned around and looked at Jake, who was now smiling some. He was glad that Adam was actually going through with his plans this time. Jake didn't hear what Adam said to Brad though, so he knew nothing about it. When it was almost time for their movie to begin, Adam and Jake left the dormitory and headed across campus to the cinema. They got their popcorn and sodas before heading into the theater the movie was showing in. The two took their seats somewhere in the middle. Throughout the movie, Adam glanced over at Jake every so often. It wasn't because he felt uncomfortable being there like he did with Katie, but for a different reason. Every now and then the two quietly commented on something in the movie. After the movie finished, Adam and Jake left and started to make their way back to their room. They talked about almost everything that happened in the movie and sometimes made jokes about some of the scenes or characters. When they finally got back to their dorm, the two sat down on Jake's bed, saying a few last things about the movie. There was then a couple seconds of silence as the two smiled at each other. “I had fun tonight,” Jake said. “Good,” said Adam. “So do you forgive me for everything that I've done to you?” “Yeah, I do. But if you ever do it again I can't say I'll forgive you again.” “Don't worry, I won't.” The two boys sat there for a moment, staring into each other's eyes before they both slowly leaned in and kissed each other on the lips. It started off as a simple kiss, but the two closed their eyes as Adam deepened the kiss. Jake was pushed down onto the bed with Adam on top of him. The brown-haired boy's hand reached up and caressed the other's boys cheek as their tongues danced together in a rhythmic motion. After kissing for a little bit, Adam slowly broke the kiss before moving to the blond-haired boy's neck. Jake let out a moan or two as he felt the other boy's lips press up against the side of his neck. Adam stopped shortly afterwards and the two boy's looked at each other with smiles on their faces. “I love you,” Adam said. One of Jake's hands reached up to stroke the other boy's cheek a little before saying, “I love you too.” Adam gave Jake one last kiss before rolling off of him to lay beside him on the bed. Jake then rested his head on Adam's chest, listening to his heartbeat while they talked a little. A little while later, the two ended up dozing off in the same position. © 2008 Chris |
