Flashes

I couldn't save them any of them..

"Alia? Helloo...Alia. Hey come on snap out of it!"

"Huh?" The sound of snapping fingers caused me to jump out of the flash I was having.

"Alia. You look terrible. I've been calling you for days. Cilents have been coming in and out of your office trying to find you. Have you been taking your medica..." her voice started to trail off into a fainted whisper as the flash started to come back.

The sound of shot guns ringing in my ear. I could hear my friend's shouting for me to continue running. She screamed suddenly and I looked back. Her body laid on the ground, her face twisted in fear as blood soaked the floor beneath her. My heart pounding violently against my chest as I watched figures running straight towards her. I wanted so desperately to run to her. Biting the bottom of my lip blood seeped out and just like that I was back in my living room, a cup of water and two pills sitting before me on the glass coffee table. Eyes peering at me as if waiting for me to obey.

She sighed as I blankly stared at them. "You didn't hear a word I said. Take these and all the terrible memories will go away." She didn't understand that I hated taking those. The side effects were something I couldn't stand, but not taking them caused something else I couldn't handle. I knew she was just trying to help me, yet like a child I refused to take it.
