Looking at a world through closed eyes can become even more beautiful when they open up to it. Yet mine remain shut creating a fantasy that one could never comprehend the beauty it could possibly hold within it, but when open revealing that very fantasy they no longer have a purpose of being closed.
Here I was within it laying underneath the single tree that rested in the middle of an open field. As I looked out into the distance towards the horizon, trees took up the whole surrounding area. The sun peeking out from the tree tops shining multiple rays of sunlight my way as it stretched outwards across the field. Flowers of all shapes and colors blossomed throughout the entire meadow. Swaying side to side as if dancing along with the wind. Clouds slowly floating above me casted cooling shadows along their journey. It was a beautiful untouched world that had been created from millions upon thousands of pixels of data within a system all put together. At first glance no one would realize it was a whole new reality. Unlike the one we were use to living, this world was made up of a variety of codes that took hours and months to combinate them together. Sadly, now it was all going to change. Taking in the last of this world's fresh air I stood on my feet glancing at the open space that surrounded me. Like arms that held out towards me but now I was about to turn and walk away from them. The announcement takes place tomorrow and I still had alot of work I had to do before hand. Pulling up an opinion screen I examined the time. It was only midnight only a couple hours left before my speech. With a sigh and a swift movement of my hand the screen disappeared. Time to get to work. As I placed a hand on the open space before me data particles layered themselves up creating the new source of this world. The whole area buzzed with noise. I wasn't use to all this commotion in one area. My head started to pound against my skull hearing all the yelling of police officers telling everyone to stay back. It seemed like everyone was pretty excited about the new release of the game. I didn't share that same excitment. I wanted the announcement done already but with everything in the world there was always a waiting list. I had to be introduced first before I could make my appearance. A sigh exhaled from my lips as I just waited behind the curtain. I wasn't paying attention to anything the people on stage were saying. But boy could they talk probably enjoyed the sound of their own voices. How irrating. Apparently though there were more game releases than just mine being announced. Yet mine seemed to catch more of an audience than the rest. Somehow I wish it didnt, because then that would mean that world would be mine and mine alone. I didn't care much for humanity nor did I want to. Yet my parents are the ones who dragged me into making my world a video game. They didn't care about anything else except the money that went with it. Another sigh, damn it seems like I'm just not enjoying myself today. To my surprise my manager, that my father hired, was paying quite a bit of attention to me and placed a hand on my shoulder while leaning over to me. "It will all be fine. No need to be nervous it will be over before you know it." He whispered to me. Even though I didn't look to see his face I could tell from the tone of his voice that he was smiling. I wanted to chuckle at how wrong he was about me but I kept it inside as to not stir anything up. © 2017 Haru Shimo |
