GRAVE STONE

GRAVE STONE

A Poem by Harris Malik

I stand by your grave stone
Looking at newly laid dirt
I sprinkled some water on the dust
Its odour choked my lungs
desperately ran my fingers through the dampened dirt
As if i tried to feel you
A false hope ,for you are on the other side
the unknown one
yet the most certain one
In the heart of death
In the lape of nothingness
In the unending wilderness
In the city of silence
Now youre free, youre no more a slave
Your debts have been paid
Walk through your new land
Walk as if there is no fear
Standing by your grave stone
I am waiting for my turn
And i only wish
By the time i join you
The place next yours is still vacant

Life in the eternal hereafter
Today we live as ephemera
Pages worn and torn
As our stories write themselves
