Natural Disasters

Natural Disasters

A Poem by Harriet Rose
"

About someone who I used to date.

"

Your warm heart glows sensationally,

Underneath the thin layers of your facade,

but your surface is cold like stone and your voice

stabs at my eardrums.

Your love is a butterfly in the sweet, sweet

summer sun perching on a yellow flower,

but your hands leave trails of ice and

cold feelings of hatred.

Your embrace is calming like the spring breeze

rolling from the green hills,

but your lungs exhale fires of hell and suffering.

You are a natural disaster, but there is nothing natural about you.
