Sonnet of Lies

Sonnet of Lies

A Poem by Harper Tate

There is no point in speaking truth,

For I know all the lies

That leave your mouth, and day by day,

Your slumbered nights deprived.

So leave this place and leave the mind

Of loved ones and their foes,

For when they hear the truth of you,

They’ll crash, so full of woes.

Your presence here, no one could want,

Your sinful history,

When others learn of your deceit,

They hold your destiny.

For now dear errant, mewling quim,

The cast of dice is oh so grim.
