The Cover Up

The Cover Up

A Poem by Harmony.Txx

I found myself in the middle of this dark room

not sure of what I was feeling.

My body was a playground

yet no one saw me.

I bled my heart dry

and I knew the black hole

was growing inside.

not even I knew,

What was I suppose

to feel?

Every part of me

had been bruised, you pushed me to the side

And I was your excuse!

I cried for open arms,

you slapped me instead.

You started my disassociation

you said it was all inside my head.

You taught me to take disrespect

For the comfort of life.

I could never be you.

Maybe this is why I wrecked my life.

All my life I watched you!

My kids saved me,I should have been dead

Too many times I wanted to go over the ledge.

F**k I just can't wait until my end.

Oh gosh, no,no,no
Waiting to die is not the solution to being battered.
The poem says that the children saved this wounded person so that is where their thoughts should go..
This is so sad...
Perhaps if you find the time you might like to read mine.. Especially SCREAM..or Careless

The title was interesting as I read it again after the poem. I like the raw emotion and the well-done written verses.

Dark waters here. The addressee, who is not named, is an abuser, and I suspect it is a parent. The effects of this kind of experience can be devastating, as the speaker states. The last line is painful to read.
