<3 Mother <3A Poem by Harmony Gracea poem I wrote for my mom on Mother's day
You carried me within your womb, nourishing me and helping me bloom.
Although God did know me first, you knew I was there, and with me you conversed. The Doctor said I’d be born retarded, But you said you didn’t care and that I wouldn’t be aborted. And when I was born, your heart was torn, for they told you that my heart had a hole. But unto God you did pray, not to take your baby girl away. And with many tears shed that day, you not so graciously gave me away. You knew God was with me and for sure he was, for I stand here now speaking with cause. When times were rough, you stayed tough. Although now I see it was merely a bluff. I know at times you could have cried, but you made sure that instead you smiled. At nighttime you would tuck me in, under your arms I was safe within. When I complained about the trouble I got myself in, you played the smallest violin. All through the years you helped me grow, you told me there was one thing to know. God Loved me and sent his son, all so I could live with him above. I’m thankful that while some mothers abort, you saw me as important a living soul. God gave to us a special bond, and with each other we are quite fond. I’m Happy you’ve been there so far in my life, even though I can be quite the strife. A Godly Women in which I love, I can honestly say you’re someone I’m proud of. I know I make you wanna shout, throw your hands up and just walk out. Please know I wouldn’t want my life any differently, I do wish it was a little more gently. You keep saying how you wished you could give me more, but just the fact that I have you is more than I could’ve asked for! You set a good example following Proverbs 31. Being a virtuous women, and not coming undone. This Women that accepted me, that when I was in her arms was filled with glee. That when I’d cry, would place me on her thigh, and both my cheeks she would dry. This women that is full of love, and God chose for no other. She’s my mother. And I thank God everyday for her, for setting an example to me. Mom I love you and wish you happy mothers Day! Proverbs 22: 1 “Train up a Child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he shall not depart from it.” Proverbs 31:10 28and30 10: Who can find a virtuous women? For her price is far above rubies. 28: Her children arise up, and call her Blessed; her Husband also; and they praiseth her. 30: Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: But a women that fears the lord is to be praised. © 2010 Harmony Grace |
