Memories of ChildhoodA Poem by AnahatIf you carry your childhood with you, you never become Older!!Childhood, what a time that was, Everything done earned a gift of applause. Choosing the colour of sketch pen was a tough task, Questions on every little thing we used to ask. Occupying the window seat in van was called obsession, Wearing our favourite frock was the only fashion. Getting a toffee as a birthday treat from a friend made our day, Thank you on every favour, we were made to say. Being the first one to finish copying from the blackboard was the ultimate moment of pride, That curiosity of going to a marriage and watching the bride. Hiding answers from a bench partner during test was not called selfishness, Expressing our love for mom by the caress. Finishing the torture of homework to get extra time to play, Sitting together making models with the colourful clay. How we loved sleeping late and having some extra tv time, Made to read poems that perfectly did rhyme. We didn't need facebook or a phone to keep in touch, Lived a carefree life, about problems didn't have to think much. That time Dad was the only hero and Mom the only best friend, Rightly said, everyone dies twice, once when their Childhood ends!
