A Lonely Bird

A Lonely Bird

A Poem by Anahat
"

I wish you were here, But you are not, you are there, And THERE doesn't know how lucky it is!

"
I walk along the beach leaving footprints cold and bare,
How can I enjoy the sunset when there is no one to share..
There used to be a pair of footprints next to mine,
But they washed away with waves and shifting sands of time.
All i can do now is remember how things were,
Just left with the glass of memories to stir.
Walking on the road holding her finger,
Listening to her song for she is the worlds best singer.
Hugging her I used to weep,
With my head on her lap, she made me fall asleep.
Corrected me on every little mistake,
Never she did let me break.
She has been my backbone in every situation,
Supported me on life's every station.
She was like my map on a lost path,
And no doubt the secret to my happy heart.
Just like a ray of hope in darkness,
And my inspiration for every success.
She can definitely be none other,
Except the worlds best mother.
Unfortunately came the life's bitter truth,
God had to take her away, leaving me in ruth!
Those were the hardest days of my life,
Days passed crying, shouting and sometimes in strife.
Every little thing felt so hard to do,
Missed her every moment, could not even polish a shoe.
Not even the happiest of things made me feel good,
I tried my best to smile if I could.
Its still the hardest thing for me to accept,
All the memories I often recollect.
But I just wait for an angel to descend,
Offer her hand and bend.
Holding it I could fly,
Killing all my feelings, speaking aloud GoodBye!

A very dear friend once told me the only way to be immortal is to be loved, you'll be alive in every memory those that love you share, you'll be alive in every funny story they tell about you in every single moment they find something that you gave them ... he told me this a few weeks before canser took him, i know for a fact that is true those we love live forever in our hearts.... I'm sure you're mom is proud of you wherever she is ... And also a verry good poem ... Your words touched my heart.

i don't think so...because i wrote it only a few days back..and posted it here now...:)
Its a great tribute ... but it also hides a secret ... of mother's love ... the way it sometimes says ... its also you. A nice poem.

thank you so much :)
That was really so so sad, I thank god i still have my mom here, you know.. some writings make me tear and just think that i can never live without her, I got this poem very well, since i had this feeling with my aunt ,where she died when i was so young, i stayed in grieve for many years (about 4-5), then I just had to continue my life, that was so sad to remember and i know that it is even harder to loose a mom,, so sorry for everyone who had lost his/her mom,..
that was very good job, well done :)

This is so beautiful! At first I thought it was about two lovers but when I realized that it was about a mom and a child it just made it better. I loved the emotions and everything! Very well done.

This brought memories back to me, losing a mother is almost unexpressable, I am a living example, the poem carried a lovely tone about it, but it is harder when you have to feel it in real life, thanks for sharing this, I would like to make a re_do of it, so I can pour in my own pain, I end with this line;
" As days became years, never would my hands feel hers again, never would my smile catch hers again,
Instead, I look up to the sky and blurt our' hi mom!'

Thanks Ana.

My pleasure, Ana.
You managed to portray how would it feel! I hope neither you, anyone or I would ever experience this! I hope we die on the same day as our mother, so non of us will get to suffer :')
Emotional and sob-inducing portray 💘
