The Raging Storm of ParanoiaA Poem by Harmartia PoeI repeat lyrics in my head, singing “sometimes to stay alive you gotta kill your mind.” They’re right. But I can’t. Not if it kills me first. Worry has an iron fist, punching me in the gut, knocking wind from reason, and busting my lip gushing anxieties with blood. Beaten and bruised, I utter They’re watching me, Talking about me. Paranoia rages on. Tornadoes in my skull. I can’t shake the feeling Can you silence the screams? My mind is so loud. You always hide what the sick friend already knows. Your yells say you’re fine While your whispers say otherwise. So tell me, my friend: What are you hiding from me? © 2014 Harmartia PoeAuthor's Note
