Cut the CordA Poem by Harmartia Poe
Sometimes
I feel quiet. Not just a lack of sound, But I feel it...weighing down on me. Words gush from my esophagus, Then I choke on them. A brick wall of suppression. I drown. ... Then I realize: The quiet is peaceful. No words like knives. If I suck in my lips, Concave my teeth, Cut my gums, And slash my cords, I'll only hurt myself.
