Single Mother

Single Mother

A Poem by Arlen

Left alone with no help but your own
Not enough money to pay the phone
With the stress of many bills to pay
Thoughts of not waking up one day
Worrying about if u can put food on the table
Hoping this was just a dream maybe even a fable
Pressures of life at you with full force
Nothing to do but let nature take its course
Not knowing the inspiration your kids draw from you
A heart full of gold would be a description that's true
How can I do this all alone she starts to reap
As tears pour down the cheek and seep
Destiny chose your path don't be afraid
Love from your heart is better than being paid
I know its hard but keep your head up
Pour negative thought out like water in a cup
A beautiful person turned out when you came that day
A mothers love no one can ever repay

A good write. It's hard to be a single mom, a lot of responsibility, it's really hard going it alone. I've been on both sides you have to give it the best you can. Thank you for sharing. Debileah

I got into writing poetry at a point in my life where I was really down and depressed as a teenager. As I started to release my creative expression, the more things started to flow for me. I realized .. more..
