We waitA Poem by Fantasia AllmightyWe wait in the waiting room. The silence fills the room. The tension in the room is horrible. We can stand it no longer when the doctor walks in. The words he spits at me are like posion in my veins.
She has cancer, is that what you said? No, it can't be that. She fell that's all! That's it! The bruise will go away won't it, won't it? The tears fill my eyes and they burn and sting. I try to take it in, but my heart won't allow it.
She died today. Slow and peacefully. After all that suffering she died in her sleep. My breathing slows my heart beats out of my chest. I never got to say goodbye to her. I never got to tell her I loved her one last time.
Now I sit home and think about what she might be doing in heaven. What she might be saying to God. Maybe she is an angel because that's what she was to me. I miss her so much. Please, please, let me sleep, give me peace. I'm going to her grave and tell her myself that I love her. "Goodbye, I love you." I whisper to her as I cry, and place a roes on her grave. © 2010 Fantasia AllmightyAuthor's Note
