DnD: Forgotten Realms StoryA Chapter by Harleen
My half brother and I had grown up on an orchard growing peaches with our human father. It was a calm life, I spent most days with father, helping him in a much different way than my much stronger brother.
While my brother tended to the fields, and earned extra cash in the town militia, I would go to the town with father, and assist him in the selling of out peaches. My father always told me I had a speaker's art, a trait I had obtained from his first love, my elven mother. On these trips my favorite thing to do as a child was to sing and hum to the birds, they seemed to find my melody soothing and they would become tired. I hadn't realized it at the time, but I was preforming magic on the small critters. Another trait from my elven mother? Perhaps. My younger brother on the other hand, had a human mother, and he was strong and stout. Father always said Belenrak was aa strong as an ox, dumb as one, too. I wouldn't call him dumb though. He is far from it. He is excellent at strategy games and warfare. He is just smart in a unconventional way, which can be hard to see. As we grew into adulthood, and blessed father fell ill, and Belenrak would have to work the orchard twice as hard with only me as his assistant. It was turning fall, so Belenrak would accompany me on the trip to town, to sell our crops. This, young one, is where my story truely began. Please, won't you stay and listen to the story of me and your grandfather? © 2016 Harleen |
