Micro-Fictions Collection

A Story by J Walsh

Each of these flash fictions consist of 50 words (titles not included):

Politics For Beginners

Unbeknownst to all, the children held a power over this world. The adults had ruined things so much over the years, that the shape of the future was more in a state of flux than it ever had been. They wouldn’t stand for it much longer. They’d bring the rebellion.

Mona’s Calls

I don’t get Mona’s calls anymore. The professional sounding men and women used to call me up to do business with Mona, but I haven’t heard from them for over a year now. I guess she finally realised she’d given out the wrong number, or maybe she changed her phone.

Falling

Falling is the easy part.

He took the step forward from the roof edge; his foot launching him from the plastic drainpipe. The air couldn’t hold him as he fell slowly. His mind relaxed and spoke softly to him:

‘Falling is the easy part.

It’s only the ground that’s hard.’

Author's Note

J Walsh
Given the task to write a piece of flash fiction (ie. to tell a story in 50 words), I ran with it and did three. Might make this a regular thing if I come up with more, in which case, this will be referred to as "Flash Fiction Collection #1"!

very interesting approach! They look sorta like three poems with each containing a story. Personally, I like "Falling" the most. :)
