Alone Together

Alone Together

A Poem by J Walsh

Well, if Adam had Eve,

Abraham had Sarah,

and Joseph had Mary,

then Paris had Helen,
Lancelot had Guinevere,

and Henry had Catherine,

            and Anne,

                        and Jane,

                                    and Anne,

                                                and Catherine,

                                                            AND Catherine;

and if Ross had Rachel,

Fry had Leela,

Homer had Marge,

Ozzy has Sharon,

David has Victoria,

and Chris has Gwynth;

and if Jack had Sally,

Angel had Buffy,

even Edward had Bella,

then how come I’m still stuck with my right hand?

J Walsh
This is a wee something I threw together after watching some ranty performance poetry, and being mentally attacked by the plight of constant singledom.
