A Poem by The Darkest Silhouette

Best prints made in the final hours

art sells well, posthumously

why is accomplishment not given when it is deserved

can the painter not become a hero among men

or is art reliant on people

hoping to grab a piece of the past for themselves

why is it that we cannot dream of selling the present

and politicians freely sell our future's

behold, this is the present

grasp it, hold it, for it is here now

yesterday it was the future

tomorrow it will be the past

live in yesterday's future, i tell you

behold this, you have lost fixation on the past

you now control your own destiny

live in tomorrow's past

every bit of past will come first to you

you will get the first touch of memories

keepsakes for a later day

everyday now, will be the past then

celebrate it, not someday

a fond memory

but now, while the future's past is fresh

and unspoiled by bidders
