A fallen woman

A jewel

upon the somber earth

Illuminates the truth

That all things change

They rise,then fade

This small leaf is the proof

I bend down

I pick you up

I hold you to my heart

This tender leaf

is Autumns gold

and Winters loving heart

Nothing catches my eye quite like the fall leaves on the ground as they start to fall from the trees. The number of times I have walked over and said "what's this" when one of their colors catches my eye. It's always such a nice little surprise to find one, just a little splash of unexpected color.
Those small little leaves are such a symbol of change and renewal as well. I enjoyed getting to read this.
