The Plan

Miyuki looked to her brother as she dressed carefully, the courtier smiling a bit “Fuyukaze, I have a task for you.” She smiled and let her gaze return before her as the servants carefully laid out her hair this morning. Today she was wearing a rich red kimono, and working red <type> blossoms into her hair and outfit.

Fuyukaze was dressed in a red kimono as well, trimmed with white bands, his appearance striking<why?>. He looked towards his sister and bowed his head slightly. “Yes sister, anything you ask for.”

Miyuki nodded to him, “I do not know if you heard her, but Funada Chisato insulted our family last night.” She looked at the fans upon the floor and quietly let her fingers slip from handle to handle “I am not sure if it was her intentions to do so, she sounded like a fool but the insult to the Rensho and Taeshimo can not go unpunished.”

Fuyukaze blinked a bit just turning to look at his sister in the eye “So I am to duel them?” he said his heart lurching in his chest.

“Yes exactly, though it would be unseemly for me to accuse her directly.mm What I need is for you to insult Chisato or another member of her entourage. Blood must be spilled or else we will lose face,” she smiled and picked up a fan “besides the Katsukana school is best at dueling. It should pose no problem for you defeat another.”

Fuyukaze nodded, feeling his throat grow tight “Yes sister,” he said less than confidently. He was a warrior yes, but dueling was something entirely different. Two men standing apart next to one another, then in the blink of the eye they draw their swords and cut in one motion trying to kill their opponent before being killed. Dueling was a lethal affair, and though he was trained in it, the thought of his first real duel made him nervous. Still he was a warrior he had to do this, “What should I do?” He asked, trying to straighten himself, remembering Goemon calling him a coward before.

She nodded softly “Good, this should be easy. Now listen to me carefully as it is important you follow my words carefully.” She began to explain her strategy.
