A Poem by Hidden Happiness
"

the timeline of a girl who was born in the mountains

"
She starts her life as a fresh innocent soul
Brighter than the morning sun
Her smile brought warmth amidst the cold
Her locks, a fiery gold
Her eyes, the bore a picture of heaven's dreams
She was blessed, she was a dream.

She starts to grow, her beauty drips
Soaking the barren land of the hills
The mountains, which once stood with pride
It seems as if they try to hide
Their defeated faces with the snow
But it is from them she finds her strength
As she works all day and night
For a penny or two to help her thrive.

She is now a complete woman
A beauty worth staring at
She gives nature a new meaning
As she gifts the flowers with fragrance and beauty
And some hopeless eyes, as if in a trance, stare
Wishing one day she would be theirs
But some eyes roll down too low
As their imagination drifts to something dark
A seizure if innocence, they blow her spark.

One day she belongs to someone else
She is still beautiful, but her vibrancy long gone
She is something with which he plays
Like a rag doll or a puppet made of clay
No one to heal the bruises in her heart
She is a piece of meat that knows to give birth
The little birds, whom she raises with a love so deep, soon flies
And he dies
All alone, she is left behind.

She goes back to the hills
Where she spent days so full of hope
The mountains no longer give her strength
They just stare at her, cold
She is growing old
She sits alone in a rusty armchair
The wrinkles have now started to appear
Her glasses are broken, no one to fix it
Like no one was there to fix her heart.

The clock strikes on, as she waits for Death
She slowly breathes her last breath
But comes for her, her beautiful past
The innocent child, the vibrant teen and the beautiful woman
And together they walk hand in hand
Away to a far-off land
Where she is human, she is woman, she has her rights
Where she is something she wanted to be her whole life.

This is a nice piece of writing with some good feminism sub-texts. Very interesting, love the line "The innocent child, the vibrant teen and the beautiful woman"

Thank you so much:-).
I feel like this happens to many women, in the past, currently, and sadly alas, awaits some in the future.

Well yh i guess that's why maybe the idea came into my mind...thanks for reviewing:-).
this felt very fairy-tale like, you know, except prince charming was more like the bad guy and a little less... charming. The timeline idea was great, excellent job!
