Shadows ForgottenA Poem by Unplain UnjaneThis too was written on my Junior Retreat, but this was during one of the activities.
The past... It hurts me.
The shadows... They haunt me The secrets... They keep me from saying too much And all too often not enough All of this causes unbearable pain You may never see it because I won't look in your eyes I'm afraid you'll see too much The pain... It causes jealousy Jealousy of those who can shine with no worries in the world This all makes me feel weak and hopeless, But the loniless is my comfort zone Maybe soon the sun will shine And I will be noticed. I will be found I will be allowed time to shine My pain will disappear The shadows won't phase me And my past will be nothing but a distant memory. © 2011 Unplain UnjaneAuthor's Note
