Melting (#1)

Melting (#1)

A Poem by Jared Michael Smith
"

This came to me as I watched the ice melt outside.

"
Melting,
The ebb and flow
Of time seeps by.
Meanwhile,
My icy prison
Stands alone,
Frozen in place
Never melting,
Never changing.
Stuck in my own
Little world.
Stunted growth.
Not getting worse,
Neither getting better.

My only suggestion on this one is to omit the 'but' in the eight line; I think it will make be more dramatic without the 'but'. And as always, I love this poem. :)
