Envy

I often feel like this in real life.

Why do people think

That I am such a

Good person, symbol

Of man's maturity?

Impetuous am I,

Easily jealous

And greedy for the

Attention I crave.

Striving and failing

To match my peers in

Their various pursuits,

Envy extraordinaire.

They say I have it,

The talent I need

To survive the world,

To live a great life.

But I cannot think

That I have talent,

Not the real skills that

I wish I could have.

And I fear I won't

Be able to control

My ugly jealousy,

My need to be seen.

What good is there in

Man's petty envy?

Nothing, nothing at all,

And never will there be.

I'd say no flow of coherence issue, the only thing, and this isn't even necessary, but if you could replace the word "envy" for a synonym of the word maybe once. Other than that I really enjoyed this poem, but just remember no one is without fault. I'm certainly not perfect either, nor is anyone else...

Thank you very much for the advice and the review! I'll try to vary my words more in the future. :) And I know that no one's perfect, but sometimes I still wish I had some of the talents that my friends do... Music, art, sports... I just can't help but want to be able to do more. :/

well... what matters on this website isn't if you can play sports or draw or play music... we don't care about that. Here we care if you can write and clearly you can do that!
