Albert followed her till the black
gates. She walked happily towards the same direction from where she had come
last night and slowly, got out of his sight
Albert gazed quietly towards the rising sun.
That was a long night.
‘Was it fun last night?’ A recognizable
voice asked him from back. The watchman stared at him, smiling.
‘Very Much’ He answered with a sigh
of relief. Even after the failure… he was very much satisfied.

Two days after the incident, Albert
entered the boss’ office.
The chubby man sat gazing at
different screens. At Albert’s sight, he stood up.
‘Albert! What’s with the videos of
the cameras? What did you did at the mansion?’ His asked swiftly.
‘What’s wrong, Head?’ Albert asked
astonishingly.
Then he looked at the recording of that
spooky night and froze.
In the whole recording, he was
ALONE! No sight of his friend or the hallucination or the flames. His eyes got
enlarged in disbelieve.
‘You are alone, and are talking to
yourself in between. It’s a mystery though, how those traps got triggered by
themselves.’ His head continued.
Albert recollected the memories of
the night and then, a sudden realization hit his mind. He hastily opened his
bag and took out the yellow envelope. Sweating in fear, He tore it and took a
look at the stuff.
Among the pictures of the owners,
was one he recognized and … to a degree... Expected. A picture of a teen. The same hazel eyes,
same thin lips and same raven black hairs. He gazed in surprise at the girl’s
picture, the girl with whom he went through that grim night.
He read the data. Behind the picture
was written ‘SUZAN SHINE’.
He read the Data…
‘Suzan was daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Shine. After their death in an accident, she inherited their property and
mansion, and her custody was given to her uncle and aunt. She was KILLED in a
fire that broke in her room under mysterious circumstances, some twenty years
ago. She was 14. Her uncle and aunt were
suspected for her murder but were never caught as they fled out of nation with
all the money. Since her death, People have sighted an identical looking child
roaming around and in the villa.’
For a minute, a chill ran through
Albert’s backbone. Then, he gave out a light laugh.
‘Boss, I’m afraid, but I have to
resign from here’ He gently spoke.
‘What? Why?’ the head asked
puzzlingly at the sudden demand.
‘Well… it’s just; ghosts are too
much for me.’ He replied calmly smiling and left the room.
