SpeechlessA Chapter by BoldpenSo, what did actually made her scream? She was standing in front of a broken statue, wrapping her mouth with her hands in horror. Her eyeballs were fixed at the statue’s head… well, on whatever was left of it, because its forehead’s left part was not there, possibly broken by time. Albert looked at the girl. Something fearing her! He knew something might have peeked out of the structure and greeted her. Maybe, statue spoke. After mustering much bravery for five minutes, he spoke. ‘What happened?’ The child turned at him and then her stare turned to sculpture again. The figure of the lady with vase stood there, lifeless, but Albert’s imagination roared " ‘it was not like that a minute ago.’ ‘I can’t believe it.’ She spoke in a horrified tone, her stare not moving from the statue. ‘What happened?’ Albert repeated the question, shaking lightly. ‘How can such a beautiful creation get broken!?’ She replied in a worried tone. Albert gave a sigh of both relief and despair. So, that was a scream of sadness. That person was really extraordinary. ‘Mister,’ her thin voice reached his ears ‘This place is really comfortable. We should stay here, at second storey.’ For third time that night, his heart stopped. His mind was reminded of the warning. He gave his friend a hostile look, a look that said ‘No! Are you planning to get us killed?’ ‘I don’t think it’s a good idea.’ He finally replied. ‘Why? This place receives a lot of illumination.’ She said glancing at her moon light bathed hand. ‘I Just… ‘He could feel the tension building up. ‘Mister,’ her innocent speech was heard ‘are you frightened to stay here because of that death that has taken place on this floor?’ Our ‘fear king’ stood erect. What should he say? He found his vocabulary lacking. The truth was… He was Frightened. But he couldn’t just accept it. The girl stood before him, viewing him with no fear in her thoughts and here he was… ‘GO AWAY!’ © 2011 BoldpenAuthor's Note
