Life is a long journey. Ups and downs are there at every turn. But when we believe i ourselves.. nothing can stop us.
I'm walking on life's lane
with my dreams by my side
in my mind, an aim to attain
Have no support with me to ride
I'll walk on, this road of life
walk on, through war and strife
walk on, through sorrow's river
walk on through loneliness’ shiver
walk on, through happy sunshine
walk on, through dark time
standing back, after every fall
Answering back, every SOS call
Jumping over every hurdle
walk on, through depression's puddle.
breaking down every doubt,
walk on, through question's cloud
Standing tall in pain that lingers
walk on, through accusing fingers
walk on, through forest deep
of chances and possibilities
Nothing will bring me down
Nothing will make me frown
Nothing can make me still
Until I achieve my will
and when I'll reach there,
will continue to walk
without a single hesitation
cause, my goal is just
a step of a journey
that leads to Final Destination.
Beautiful. I'm not much of a poetry fan, because good poems are hard to find, but this was gorgeous. I especially loved the repetition you worked in there. It really added to the idea of "walking on."
Also, I loooooove the picture that goes with your poem. Certain aspects (esp. eyes) look vaguely pokemon/sailor moon inspired?
Do you realize what you have just done? You have put nearly every teenager on this site in their place!! XD
Im not to sure if you've realized it or not, but teens here tend to focus less on writing and more on drama. Everyone is saying "Oh boo hoo, I'm a victim, I'm always sad, I'm depressed boo hoo oh woe is me," and they tend to bury themselves in the routinely rut in which they themselves have created (all while blaming others, mind you). However, you have basically just said that happiness is always obtainable and achieveable, and that if you look deep enough you'll be able to touch the stars with the same hands that had buried you once before. A 100/100 write, for sure! Keep up the great work! I've got high expectations for you!
Nice, and well written. Your struggle to keep "walking on" forcing through obstacles to acheive your final enlightenment. Put together nicely and keeps me reading. I like this.
