Promise

Promise

A Poem by Hannah

An incorruptable promise of happiness and light,
a burning ray of sun that pierces the haunting night.

An infrangiable embrace of love and desires,
a peaceful sanctuary amongst the dark betrayers and liars.

A perfect paradise to indulge in serenity and bliss,
a chance to abadon the misery I will never miss.

A rare reason to awaken with a genuine smile,
a powerful urge to forever stay awhile.

An amazing excuse to gift my fragile, feeble heart,
a constant longing to never drift apart.

You presence in my life has become a dream like gentle haze,
that rescued me from my cruel, twisted maze.

You were constantly there helping me through,
so now I will do anything I can for you.

I thought I was incapable of loving again,
I thought I would always be consumed by pain.

You brought me to life with your piercing stunning blue eyes,
and your perfect face stole me away without any tries.

The peaceful days and thrilling nights we spend together are the best,
the definition of happiness compared to the rest.

I was drowning in an enternity of numbness with no emotion,
but now my feelings for you are as powerful as the roaring, thundering ocean.

Your jokes, your soul and your whispers in my ear,
are beautiful and rare and is why I remain here

You are unpredictable, special, respectable and your morals are divine,
I'm so glad I met you, I'm so glad you're mine.

It's impossible for me to have feelings for anyone but you,
I really love you I can't believe this is true.

You make me feel good about myself, you make me want to be me,
I don't feel insecure with you, how can this be?

You smashed down my walls, then stole my heart and my mind,
you fixed me and made me yours, so please never leave me behind.

I love to know who you wrote this for, and to know what this person did for you to write this. It's excellent. I love your vocab, and the two-line pattern (whatever the formal word for it is). Just really good.

Love is a beautiful thing, and you describe your feelings so well. I do like the rhyme scheme as well; makes things flow smoothly.

I loved your usage of words here...the use of adjectives enhanced the depth further...it added to the already deep flavor of emotions...a stone brought alive by drops of love...what more can love do! so beautiful!

This was a nice write. It was very descriptive and I love the message in it. It's always hard to trust someone because you don't know if they really love you or not. You did a great job on this. I applaud you for your work. Thanks for sharing.

I like the positive feel and hope in the poem. Your description of walls falling down and learning to trust and be happy give the poem life and purpose. No weakness is this outstanding poem.
