To Kill A Mocking Bird

To Kill A Mocking Bird

A Poem by Hannerr.

To Kill A Mockingbird.

I've often heard the title of this book,
bandied about like some piece of celebrity prose.
"Oh yes, I know the one. Marvelous piece of literature, you simply must read it."

From what I gather,
it has nothing to do with how one would kill a mockingbird,
making the title misleading,
misleading me,
therefore lying to me.
And lying is a sin.

I imagine the book would,
if it were good and holy,
not breaking commandments and such,
tell you something along the lines of the fact that killing birds is wrong,
but if you're hellbent on killing this bird,
take out the wings first,
because then it can't fly away before you smash a rock into it's tiny skull.

Call me sick,
but at least I'm no liar.
