Burning Bright.

For you, my friend. I hope you burn this bright forever.

 

What happens to the moments

That never quite pass?

What happens to the snippets of time that seem to last

Forever?

We watch the stars, say 'watch them burn.'

You don't think you're like them,

Do you?

That's where you're wrong,

No, I'm not going mad.

You're exactly like them.

 

In the light, I can't see you.

But bring me the dark

And you're burning twice as bright

As any star up in that sky.

 

I live for the moments when any one of us burns like that star that we saw burning brightly in the dark.
