Thoughts Of Walking Away.

Thoughts Of Walking Away.

A Story by Hannerr.

Seeing you still makes my heart skip a beat.

Why? Why, why, oh dear god, why? Can't I look at you and just be happy to know you're my friend, and not want to bow down at your feet? Can't I spend time with you and not want you to have to go, again, can I not be delivered from the pain of watching you walk away from me?

Can I not be delivered from the pain of knowing that you no longer have time for me?

Things change, time pushes us on, and people lose grip on what was once theirs. There was a time when you, you walked with me along my own beaten tracks and where we talked, sitting on the forgotten stones behind the church, hidded from the world. There and then were you mine, and only mine.

Never have I forgotten that moment, never will I forget that moment.

When I last watched you walk away, you took a part of me as well. Silently, you promised me everything I'd ever wished for, just in the way you walked and in the way you looked over your shoulder before you vanished again. In that swift movement, you promised me that not only did you know you held a part of me, but you would look after it, and never let it go.

Still, the days drag on; it's as if it never happened.
