The Balcony.

The Balcony.

A Story by Hannerr.

A warm, Spanish night,

Sitting out on the balcony.

Do you remember?

You showed me how to reset an iPod,

Whilst softly singing 'More Than A Feeling'

And strumming your air guitar.

You threw jokes over to the other balcony,

Along with a bear, headphones,

And my shoe.

You told me of your faith,

Of your girlfriend and your job,

And let me just listen.

You listened to me talk of my life,

My hopes and my dreams,

You listened.

I remember the night,

On a note of such mental clarity,

I'm back there again.

To me, that warm Spanish night

Meant the world,

Means the world.

I'll bring it up in conversation,

And work out if you do remember,

Or if it's just been cast aside,

As another warm night,

With just another kid,

From another balcony.
