NightmareA Poem by Between_A_DreamI hate not using rhyme scheme so there's some parts with it and some without it. Who cares. I do not conform to the rules of humanity.Life is nothing but a nightmare Stricken of all emotion is she The light for which she craved so deeply Flares only once, then stutters out Swept away by a velvet sky All hope she had will not endure This heart can simply beat no more A slow and painful break While shadows enclose her body And soulless eyes writhe Tears fall- Salt of the earth As oblivion takes her outstretched hand A hideous cascade of blissful glee Washes over and chills her core A mirror's face prays on truth And sparkling ivory shimmers down The songbirds desperate cry of sorrow And a story of timeless desire Pale and fragile flesh will now crumble While midnight's air burns like fire So she walks along the abandoned road While a lamppost guides her path One dull light upon another Until a blade takes its wrath A cage of wood and satin sheets Will come even for those who love sin For her death simply was not the end Instead, the journey has yet to begin © 2017 Between_A_DreamFeatured Review
