Crimson Petals

Crimson Petals

A Poem by Between_A_Dream
"

Just another poem of a mixture between death and madness.

"

Winter is upon us

The flower soon will die

Unless we coat it heavily

With secrets and with lies

The darkness is approaching

The rumors all are true

The sun no longer bright

The sky no longer blue

The tears are a relief

The pain is a delight

I grin about my madness

Though most people run with fright

My laugh is cold and heartless

There's no joy in my eyes

Yet my lips curve into a smile

And they're in for a surprise

The petals of my heart

Have fallen to the ground

I watched with cold and tired eyes

As they slowly drifted down

Each day a new sorrow

Leaves my eyes completely dry

Yet it takes a chamber of my heart

And leaves it there to die

My body is now weak

It must have been the blade

I collapse upon my bed

And beat death at it's game

The tears are not of sadness

They fall because they should

But all these crimson petals

Have fallen now for good
