Silent ScreamsA Chapter by Hannah Roi
"God, the walls!" She screams
Silent screams The ones in the dead of night The steady, unnoticed sobs that haunt her dreams. Little did she know they were her sobs That night, so long ago, she was six years old How did she know? How did she hear those silent screams in her nightmares? She falls onto the shower floor She is sobbing. Violent sobs But silent sobs Sobs that nobody wants to notice. "God, please," she whispers "If you're there. You said You'd be there Why are You here? I need you!" And yet her sobs stay silent And no passing shadow of peace Follows her to her bed. No music can cure No laughter can lighten No one can take away Because no one sees "God," she whispers one last time But why is He not there? "Dad," she calls in a soft moan, But he never really cared. "Mom," she says to the darkness But no one's come to save. So she gets up and walks to the window, And greets the night of silent screams "Death," her outstretched arms greet the moonlight The sobs were constantly silent No one cared to listen But the demons heard.
