There was a girl

A girl who lived in fantasy

In the dusk

There was a girl who blocked it out

By escaping to the trees

Running to the sunset

There was a girl who felt it all

And they saw it

So they took advantage

They made her feel it all

Once upon a time

This girl was trampled in the dust

Each word a million footsteps

Each laugh the helping hand cut off

There were three sisters

They were a team against her

And she could not outpower

So she had to outsmart

Once upon a time

There was a girl who built her fortresses

And destroyed her fantasy castles

Because she knew she could never be queen

Not every story is happily ever after

For this queen has now become a knight

She fights for herself and smiles to hide

But she never forgets the palaces

She never forgets the happiness

She never forgets the light 

And she takes her own fights

She writes her own story.
