I Will Run

I Will Run

A Poem by Hannah Cordell
"

Do you ever feel like running, but you cannot because of your bindings? The restrictions of your heart, soul, and duties hold you back. Why don't you just imagine where you could be if you could go?

"
I will run, till you can’t see me no more
I’m gonna climb, to the pinnacle,
The peak, the top of the world
I won’t look back,
I’m too far gone
I free now, I can run now
Without these shackles holding my down
I can do anything, I will be anything
You are too far away,
You won’t be able to catch me now

I will run from you, run from you
I will not look back, won’t look back
I can see the horizon, it’s coming closer with every breath,
I can’t see you no more, I’m a goner
I’m running, I walking, I’m moving to my destination

Don’t look for me anywhere I used to go,
Don’t ask around town,
Don’t worry about me now,
I’m up up and away, won’t bring me down
I’ve been gone already for too long now
You can’t reach me, you can’t beat me
You can’t be with me, you can’t have me

Our love, our love was never real
There was only once when I was feeling the fire
It was so long ago, so hidden,
So different from anything that I’ve been feeling
Where has it gone?
Where is it now,
I know it doesn't even exist,
Is it even there in my memories, now?

I’m gonna run till you are far behind,
To where you can’t see me, you won’t beat me
To where I’m going now,
You can’t put me down,
Can’t push me around,
I’m too far gone now!

About
I am new to writing but, everyone says i have a talent for it. My mother was a poet for a while and won a lot of prizes. I hope to make it a step further- no, 10 steps further. Personally I would love.. more..
