Snapshots

A Poem by hkpt08

Gathering dust, I stand side by side

With those like me you refuse to see.

Past memories, in me, abide.

Still I wait patiently.

Remembering those times I captured a smile

On your now so sullen face,

Images you once deemed worthwhile

Now preparing to vanish without a trace.

How I wish you could look back

At all the ghosts of the past!

Paint over the larger crack.

You'll see. The pain won't last.

Never forget, I'll always be here

Waiting for you to skim through my pages,

Atop other recollections, tier after tier

Hoping one day, you'll be out of your cages.
