![]() Welcome to the CircusA Poem by Hannah Paige![]() I've always thought the circus was a pretty solid metaphor for life so.![]()
Welcome to the abysmal beyond,
The deathless depths, The chaos Of borrowed time. Welcome To the striped skies Of monochrome Mondays, Charcoal Saturdays, Ivory Sundays. Welcome to Day After day To mayday To D-day, To saints To lovers To Satan And his Herculean brothers. Welcome to the funereal charm Of the unpaved road, Of the questionable Beyond. Welcome To what they call The breeding grounds For anarchy, To rebels And revolutionaries, To the unarmed soldiers With conviction But without a cause. Welcome to the loners And the lonesome Alone together On the profuse landscape Of roaming harmonies And forgotten melodies. Welcome to the carefree And the careless And the carefully carressive Uninhibited tinkerings Of peasants, The people, Without a king. Welcome to the bodies To a crowded sea Of unsubmissive subjects Subjected And submerged To an ambient ocean Of lighthouse dreams And salty secrets. Welcome to the lion hearts To the golden boys To red rages and riots To caramalized shores. Welcome to the circus. © 2013 Hannah Paige |
